This imagery is captured at one point in time and is current as of that date but it does not change. The 2006 orthophotos were captured on April 5 and 27, 2006
Data set description
The City's orthophoto coverage includes the City, UBC, and the University Endowment Lands and parts of Richmond, the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the North Shore. As such, it exceeds the area defined by the City's facet grid (see Facet Grid Boundaries).
The 2006 orthophotos are very high quality 10 cm pixel resolution.
Data accuracy comments
Imagery is accurate as of the date it was taken although colours may or may not be exactly as occurred on that day as colours change from moment to moment due to sun and cloud cover.

An associated file provides the geo-location for each imagery file.

Coordinate system
DWG, SHP, TIF, Mr. SID, and ECW formatted data are projected in UTM Zone 10, NAD83 (CSRS). KML, CSV, and XLS formatted data are in latitude and longitude (WGS84). Not all CSV and XLS files have latitude and longitude.
Data set details
The City's orthophotos are provided in three variations as follows:
Version 1 includes MrSID files for each facet. Each facet file is about 6.8 MB in size.

- Version 2 includes files each of which contains four facets combined in ECW format.
Download facet sets from a map - Version 3 is a single file for the entire area in ECW format. This file is very large (4 GB).
