Vancouver Street Trees

We have just added Vancouver Street Trees to the City’s Open Data catalogue. This dataset includes a listing of all public trees on boulevards in the City of Vancouver and provides tree location, species and other characteristics. Park trees and private trees are not included in the inventory.

The data is available in Excel (.xls), Comma Separated Value (.csv), XML and JSON formats and is updated on a weekly basis.

Council Expenses 2011 - Quarter 3 Data

Further to the initial release of Council Expenses data in April 2011, the City has just added Year 2011 - Quarter 3 expense data to the dataset. This dataset provides expenses that each Council member has incurred while conducting business on behalf of the City. Summary information is available for years 2002 - 2009 and detailed expense transactions are available starting in year 2010. For more information, visit the Council expenses page on Open Data catalogue. This dataset will be updated quarterly from now on.

Animal Control Inventory Dataset

We have just added three new datasets from our animal control inventory system which provides a record of animals that have come into the custody of the Vancouver Animal Control Office:

  1. Deceased Animals - This dataset provides information on domestic deceased pets picked up by City staff.
  2. Lost and Found - This dataset provides information on animals that are reported lost.
  3. Register - This dataset provides a general record of each animal that has come into the custody of Vancouver Animal Control and includes such things as medical status, breed, color and any known history on the animal.

The data is available in Excel (.xls), Comma Separated Value (.csv), XML and JSON formats and is updated on a daily basis.

311 data and Council expenses 2011 - Quarter 1 data

We have has just added 311 Contact Centre statistical data. This data includes contact centre metrics which shows the number of calls presented, handled, and abandoned at the centre, as well as the average speed of answer from customer service representatives (CSRs) and the resulting service levels achieved. This data also includes the type of inquiries that come into the Centre (at a Department level) and the volume of those inquiries. The data is available in both Excel (.xls) and Comma Separated Value (.csv) formats. The data goes as far back as June 2009 and will be updated on a quarterly basis. Parks Listing Data Added to Open Data Site

After reviewing the result and feedback from the Parks related dataset survey, the City is publishing the highest ranked parks related dataset - Parks Listing to the Open Data web site. The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation maintains over 220 parks and 40 major facilities throughout the City of Vancouver. This dataset provides information of the parks and facilities that are available in them.
